Repurposing Content to Expand Reach
A New Series for March: Effectively Repurposing Content to Expand Reach
If you struggle with consistently creating fresh content while managing your ministry or business, then this series is for you! I can help you repurpose content that will:
- Maximize your efforts
- Reach new audiences
- Reinforce your message and avoid burnout.
Why is content repurposing a game changer?
Why repurposing content is a game changer for Christian entrepreneurs. If you’re like me and you have something of value to give out to the world, you have a ministry or a business and you know that you want to share it with as many people as possible, yet you struggle to be all the places and to have consistent content.
The biggest struggle I’ve faced in business and ministry is consistently creating content. Repurposing can save time and reduce overwhelm. Think of it as practicing biblical stewardship, which is making the most of what you’ve been entrusted with.
Repurpose Content
I’m going to share with you how I have helped clients in the past repurpose content so that they could leverage the content that they have without reinventing the wheel. Here is my basic process, which I use for myself and for a client. This can be a monthly or weekly process.
Step-by-Step Approach to Repurposing
- You start with a large piece of content: It can be a podcast episode, a blog post, an article, or a training you’ve done.
- Break content into smaller pieces: Extract key sections, quotes, or insights to create smaller, reusable pieces.
- Choose a theme: I choose a theme for the month. For example, in March, we will be discussing how to repurpose content effectively to expand your reach. Every month you pick a theme to guide your content or break it into weekly topics. This saves time and ensures consistency
At this moment, I’m creating a large piece of content that I would then break down into smaller pieces of content. You’re hearing me do what I’m explaining to you how to do. That helps me to see what I need as a result. I need four, or in this case, five topics. Under the umbrella of a theme of content repurposing, I can use it for other pieces of content in the future. I start out with deciding on a theme every month. If you’ve listened to my podcast for any length of time, you know that I do this consistently. I then use that content to create the four or five topics that I will use for this podcast.
Maximize Your Content Across Platforms
This isn’t only a good strategy for podcasts. You can do this with a series of blog posts, a training series, or an email marketing series. It really doesn’t matter. It’s your starting point that you will then continue on through. This will help you use your time wisely, so you can essentially multiply your efforts by repurposing content. I have had lots of clients think, you know, I have all this content, and it’s sitting on my computer. What can I possibly do with it? And that’s where I’ve taken content and pulled quotes from. I’ve taken content and created email sequences from like trainings that they’ve had and things like that.
Conclusion
These are just some of the ways that you might do that. In the next few weeks, I’m going to break this down a little bit more, giving you a repurposing framework, discussing the different pieces or types of content that you can repurpose, and choosing the right format for your audience.
I also share some time-saving hacks. So, I hope that you’ll stick around for the entire month of March to listen to those episodes about repurposing content to expand your reach. If you are not already a member of the Christian Business Advantage Facebook group, I would love to invite you to join it. It is free, and I often conduct trainings there that go into further depth on topics like this one. So hit me up on Facebook and make sure you join the group. We would love to have you. Thanks for listening!
