This week, we’re continuing our series on Email Marketing for Beginners. We are going to be comparing email newsletter service providers that you might use in order to send out an email newsletter to your list. I highly recommend three services to choose from each of these services has their own reasons why I recommend them.

a visual representation of email newsletter service providers

And none of them is a bad choice. So I’m going to start with the lowest level of the services. In both cost and how easy it is to use.

#1 – MailerLite – This is the least robust of the programs. I love that. It’s, pricing’s really straightforward. You have an option to try it for free. You can upgrade. For as little as $9 a month.  And if you pay yearly and $10 a month, if you play monthly, there’s also an advanced version for $19 a month. When you pay yearly and $21, when you pay monthly. And that’s all for 1000 subscribers.

Which is amazing because some programs you have to pay for a much lower amount of subscribers. You have some limits with the free version. There’s only a certain number of emails that you can see in per month, but it does have an amazing drag and drop editor, email automation builder. You can create your own website, landing pages and sign up forms and pop up forms.

You have 24 hour email support. It’s. There’s nothing really left. No stone left unturned. When it comes to MailerLite and the subscription version for the $10 a month actually gives you the ability to sell digital products, access to their unlimited templates and the ability to use the auto resend feature on your campaigns.

And in this case, the number of emails you can send is on limited. Obviously, if you go up to the more advanced version for $21 a month, this gives you Facebook integration, custom HTML promotional pop-ups, multi triggers in your automations, and so much more. I have several clients who use MailerLite.

If someone is brand new to email marketing and they don’t know where to start, I almost always recommend MailerLite because it is not so overwhelming as some of the other programs.

#2 – ConvertKit It is free for up to 1000 users users, but it has fewer integrations with that. You have to get the paid version. $15 a month if you pay monthly or $290 if you pay yearly, that’s called their creator program, which is their middle of the road package. Or you can use creator pro for $50 a month if you pay monthly and $590  if you pay yearly.

Here’s a major difference between these two options the creator and creator pro. These are only good for up to 300 subscribers. And after you surpass that our price increases. So you get unlimited landing pages and forms and broadcast. You know, just the emails that you send out, the emails that you would send as a newsletter in ConvertKit would be called broadcast. And you do already have the ability to sale digital products and subscriptions, and you get live chat for help.

So if you wanted a subscription that allows you to send emails to up to a thousand, then you could pay that $50 a month yearly or $29 a month for the creator. But with each step, obviously, It’s going to cost you.

#3 – My favorite of these is Active Campaign. Active Campaign when it’s paid yearly is 49 a month and 70 a month. If you paid monthly for the plus pack package. There are different levels to ActiveCampaign based upon your number of subscribers, but ActiveCampaign did just go up on those different levels. I’m sorry at the time of this recording, I don’t have that information in front of me. But it does have a ton of features. These include email marketing and automations landing pages. You can create custom audiences like in Facebook. You can have any number of integrations, like integrating it with WooCommerce, things like that.

And you can use it as a CRM to keep track of your sales. Just like a Convert Kit it as all the bells and whistles. They do offer help and they offer text automation. It’s the most robust of these three email marketing service providers or email newsletter providers. It’s the most comprehensive and it has the most features. But as I said before, if you’re just starting out, I would highly recommend MailerLite because its simplest and most economical.

Many people ask me why I did not mention MailChimp in my pitch. In my simple opinion, MailChimp promises a lot with its free program. They get you in the door and you get excited about something for free, but then you start to create your content.

You start to send out your emails and you realize that some of the features that you need are not included in the free version of MailChimp and you end up having to switch. So save yourself the hassle and go for one of these other three instead.
